MEN’S FLECHE WALLONNE
Created in 1936 on the initiative of two Brussels journalists, la Flèche Wallonne and its famous “wall” of Huy form, together with Liège-Bastogne-Liège, the second part of the Ardennes week-end. Many cycling experts consider la Flèche Wallonne as an exemplary classic on account of its uniform course, hilly practically from beginning to end and its balanced nature. Its main features are a regular saw-tooth profile, difficulties which are judiciously spread over the course without long stretches and a distance under 200 kms.

WOMEN’S FLECHE WALLONNE
On the women’s road cycling circuit that year after year gains in sporting maturity and notoriety, the women’s Flèche Wallonne has a privileged situation. In 2004, the 5th event of the World Cup was even rated best of the eleven races of the season. The 106km course that finishes like for the men’s race at the top of the famous Mur de Huy, makes the event even more special and attracts the best teams and therefore champions of the cycling World.
