Created in 1976 by the Stade Français, organized by the city of Paris from 1988, organized by A.S.O. since 1998, Le Marathon de Paris became the 3rd marathon in the world in 2000, behind its New York and London cousins. Each year, 30,000 runners face up to each other over a prestigious course taking them through the capital from the Champs-Elysees and finishing on the Avenue Foch, with, on the way, the Place de la Bastille, the Bois de Vincennes, the Hotel de ville (city hall), the embankments of the Seine, the Trocadero and the Bois de Boulogne. |
